My client, Ashly T. is performing a workout I've dubbed, the sledge crunch.
The sledge hammer is not the first thing that comes to mind when considering workout equipment.  However, MD Fitness is all about adding the utmost variety to your workout(s).
It's very hard for an ab workout to target the upper and lower abdominal muscles simultaneously: The crunch mainly targets the upper, while lower abdominal workouts such as the sit up incorporate a lot of hip-flexers.  Yet, the sledge crunch targets the upper and lower, as well as the obliques for a balanced abdominal muscle movement.
